FOREWORD
The passions and desires that most people only dream about fulfilling are usually kept well hidden beneath a veneer of respectability and outwardly normal appearances. Mostly under unique circumstances — on a psychiatrist’s couch, in a place far from the everyday, on an occasion where booze and the relaxed inhibitions of others lend an air of recklessness and experimentation — are those desires ever confessed or experienced.
Ira and Harriet are a happily married couple of twenty years. Yet, in spite of their compatibility, both find themselves yearning for something more, finally resorting to separate vacations in order to satisfy their hidden desires for the new and different. While Harriet prowls the Continent in search of thrills, Ira roams the beaches near their summer cottage, never dreaming that he will find what he longs for in the person of his own eighteen-year-old niece Tracey.
